Eagle Scout Project

Creature Safe Place, Inc. would like to thank Matthew Waldrop for selecting our sanctuary to do his Floating Dock Eagle Project at our pond habitat, We will be documenting this project from start to finish for our followers and contributors to follow.

Today myself and Winnie Burns met with Matthew at the pond area so that he could prepare for this habitat enhancement and begin his planning. (photo of Matthew and pond area).

While meeting with Matthew I asked him what does it mean to him to do this project? He stated, "I have grown up around Creature Safe Place, Inc. over the years, and the sanctuary has given me so much personal growth and memories" and " Now I want to be able to give back to my community what they have given me"

We are excited about your project Matthew and will document it along the way to show the community what an amazing leader you are.

Note: What is an Eagle Scout Project?

It is a significant community service project that a scout must plan, organize and lead to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. The project serves as a demonstration of the scouts leadership, planning and problem solving abilities while benefiting a community organization.         03/18/26

Eagle Scout Project Update 04/10/26

Matthew came out to visit and give us an update on where he is at with the floating dock project. He explained to me the process to be able to move forward with an Eagle Scouts project and that our next step was to submit his rendered drawing to his leader for approval. The image you see below is the amazing drawing that Matthew has engineered.

He explained the drawing in detail and one of the great features is that halfway on to the dock he would like to install hinges so that as the water levels rise it will not put stress on the stationary entrance. "Great job Matthew we are proud of you and look forward to your next update"
